NAIFA owns and will seek to establish registration of its certification-related marks (e.g., LACP) and logos by obtaining official trademarks, service marks, or certification marks for them through the United States Patent and Trademark Office and appropriate international bodies as determined by NAIFA. Only certificants who hold valid LACP certification are authorized to use the marks. In order to maintain ongoing protection for NAIFA’s ownership of the marks, the Certification Commission monitors certificants’ use of the marks on websites and other locations. Unauthorized use of the marks by any individual is prohibited, and NAIFA may take appropriate measures to address all unauthorized use that comes to its attention.
