In partnership with Fairway Mortgage, NAIFA is offering the Certified Home Equity Advisor (CHEA) credential, a first-of-itskind program designed to help financial and insurance professionals responsibly integrate home equity into comprehensive retirement planning.

Exclusively for NAIFA members, the CHEA credential focuses on the ethical and strategic use of housing wealth - including reverse mortgages, when appropriate - as part of modern retirement strategies for clients aged 55 and older.

The 8-hour program combines academic research, real-world case studies, and fiduciary-aligned planning frameworks, addressing a long-standing gap in traditional financial education that often overlooks home equity as a retirement asset.

This four-part, 8-hour CE program—delivered over two days—features real-world case studies, compliant communication techniques, and actionable planning tools to improve client outcomes in the areas of:

  • Cash flow
  • Tax efficiency
  • Legacy planning
  • Portfolio protection

Each session builds toward the Certified Home Equity Advisor (CHEA) designation—available exclusively through this NAIFA-endorsed program.

Course Topics Include:

  • The New Retirement Reality and the Role of Housing Wealth
  • Reverse Mortgage Mechanics and Myths
  • Advanced Planning Applications Using Home Equity
  • Building Advisor Collaboration and Compliance Confidence

Grounded in academic research and taught by experienced subject matter specialists, this program delivers both CE credit and practical insights you can apply immediately.
