Advanced Roth IRA Strategies

Roth IRAs are a critical tool in tax efficient retirement planning and an important option for many retirement strategies. Choosing ROTH contributions and conversions can provide long term benefits to both clients and their beneficiaries, but are exposed to pitfalls. This presentation begins by examining the changing tax environment and why tax-free assets may be attractive in future tax environments. It continues by examining Roth as an estate planning vehicle for those looking to preserve assets for their beneficiaries. Finally, the presentation provides a technical understanding of 3 types of ROTH conversion strategies: Serial, Tactical, & Retirement conversions, and the advantages of Fixed Indexed Annuities in Roth Conversions.

You will learn:
  • The future tax environment and why Roth assets may be an important tax hedge
  • Roth IRAs as an estate planning asset and why affluent clientele may desire to maximize Roth assets to pass to inheritors rather than utilizing them as a retirement income source
  • Roth IRA conversions and how to optimize tax strategies with serial, tactical, and retirement conversations
  • Fixed Indexed Annuities and their unique advantage with Roth Conversions
