The session will review our 2022 Business Implementation Plan and provide the framework for our collective work in 2023. The outcome of the session is to have all leaders align to the goals and work areas that the association will undertake together in the coming year.

8:40 am - 9:00 am: Starts with the Top: Effective Board Structures

The success of our association relies on the leaders that are able to organize, mobilize, and energize our members around our common goals outlined in the annual Business Implementation Plan that is devised from the 2025 Strategic Plan. Leadership starts at the top and therefore, the critical role of the National Board of Trustees, state board, and local boards to execute on the Plans cannot be understated. Join this session for a candid conversation as to how Boards align to the Plans and how Boards should orient themselves in 2023 to create alignment across the association. We will discuss the restructure of the National Board that will be implemented in 2024 and discuss how this may be replicated at the state and local levels to expand our resource base and further amplify our brand.

Bring your questions as Nathan opens up the interactive portion of the session where questions from the floor will be taken. We will also measure how accurate Nathan was in his previous projections he provided to NAIFA’s IFAPAC contributors during the special webinar held in September. As a reminder, IFAPAC contributors all receive Nathan’s monthly Inside Elections newsletter and special insights just for NAIFA as part of our ongoing relationship with this political pundit.

2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Advocacy Alignment: 2023 Legislative Priorities and Partnerships

Learn how we can strengthen NAIFA’s advocacy footprint in 2023. Join leaders from NAIFA and partner organizations as we outline our 2023 legislative priorities and discuss how we align our efforts between state, interstate, and federal initiatives. The session will talk through several examples of victories, challenges, and lessons learned on how we can continue to improve coordinated advocacy responses.

3:00 pm - 3:30 pm: IFAPAC Participation and Utilization

This session will bring the purpose and high-level processes of the PAC front-and-center so that all leaders can identify new ways to build this into the heart of their 2023 plans. Not only with the session focus on how the PAC works, but it will debunk common myths and objections about the PAC that may discourage members from contributing. While PAC basics are covered so that all Board members have the same understanding, the thrust of the session will be on the true power of the PAC—utilization of the funds. PAC chairs will lead us through examples of how to solicit IFAPAC contributions and recognition contributors. They will also cover candidate selection and distribution of funds. The session will tie together how membership, grassroots, and political action campaigns work hand-in-hand at NAIFA and why intertwining these three areas makes NAIFA the strongest association for producers in the industry.
